Hard to even keep up--the clown nominally in charge has daily tantrums, the descent into fascism is real enough if not in my face (locally at least two international students were arrested, but I don't spend time near the campus). 

I finally forced myself to watch Pete Hegseth speak for a few minutes and good lord, he sounded like a deranged, alternative-universe-Star-Trek-Fan-Fiction-Kirk on meth.

They're the embodiment of evil, but they're also pathetic. 

The vengeance and retribution is almost exclusively based on television reports they heard on cable news. 

When a real crisis hits, and one will, hold on.

Whether the cultists believes the nonsense not, the elite media's decision to focus on stuff like this is a big part of the problem...especially when they ignore stuff like this, or worse, uncritically accept wingnut talking points about reviving manufacturing. 

It's not just the cruelty that's the point, it's the willingness of everyone else to go along.

The goon squads are real enough, but the people they're abducting -- and these are kidnappings -- are only guilty of being insufficiently Caucasian. 

I expect the MAGAts to be ugly bigots. 

The ones that surprise me are the alleged reasonable Repugs, who turn out to be just as horrible, with the added bonus of regular media programming that reinforces the bigotry. 

Guess that's one way of defining puke funnel.

Hard to do anything except stare at the sheer lunacy of it all--it's like an extended episode of The Alternate Universe West Wing (Stephen Miller with a goatee seems even more hideous) and I use that as more than just a metaphor, because it's pretty clear their motivation is, as I noted yesterday bruised egos, but also a juvenile desire to be the center of attention. Click bait, with a side of narcissism.

Probably should've gone with a TV or cell phone screen instead of old school newspaper with today's offering, but hey, it's Monday and I spent part of my day with unscheduled ebike maintenance (the flat tire is fixed). 

Skipping a link, though am musing on the bombfest over there and the ongoing assault here on basically anyone they feel they can assault.

Christ, pun intended, does someone named Jesus need to get roughed up or worse before people notice? 

The performative aspect is still eating at me, because I'll keep repeating it's very much NOT performative for Trump's victims. 

But it's pretty clear it's all performance for the creeps running things, and the inspiration for the shit show, best as I can tell, is bruised egos.
